How to make your own website? Making your own website is really quite easy. I myself struggled at first at making my own website. But after a lot of trial and error, I found the faster and easier method of making my own website.
Follow these easy steps to make your own website.
1> You need to know what your website is about. Is it a business website or a personal/family website?
2> Once you have decided what your website is about, you need to choose a domain name. Your domain name should be related to what your site is about. There are many companies that you can purchase a domain name from. One such company is godaddy.com. Before registering your domain name,you got to check if the domain name is available before making payment.
3> After you have registered your domain name, you will need a space on the world wide web for your website to be seen by others. In order to do that you will have to pay a hosting company to host or display your website for the world to see.
Your website must be hosted somewhere on the internet for it to be seen by others. There are many free and paid hosting companies available on the internet. Just Google website hosting to find hosting companies. If you want to make your own website for business,then paid hosting is the way to go.
4> Now comes the fun part.The time to make your own website. Designing your webpages is relatively easy these days. There are many free website templates and website building tools available on the internet.
I recommend kompozer,a website building tool to make your own website. It is a free download. There are tutorials available on how to use komposer. The software is user friendly and easy to use.
To start you need to open up one of the free website templates in kompozer. Once opened, you will be able to edit the webpage. Just delete the wording or parts that you do not want and add in your content to create your own website. Don't forget to save after making any changes.
5> Once you have created your own webpages for your website and are happy with it, You need to upload it to your hosting company.
The website that you have created is sitting on your computer. It cannot be seen by others just yet.It needs to be uploaded to your hosting company first.
In order to send the webpages from your computer to the hosting company, you will need a piece of software to do just that. The software that I use is called FileZilla. It is a free download.
You need to open up filezilla and connect to your hosting company with the username and password that they would have sent via email you when you signed up for your hosting.
Once connected,you will see your computer files on the left and the hosting companies files on the right. All files must be uploaded to the public_html directory on the hosting server.
Double click on the public_html to open it. Go to your computer files on the left and navigate to the webpages that you created for your website.After finding the correct files,right click on them and click on upload.
You will see your files uploading to the hosting server. Once uploaded go to your internet browser and type in your domain name and hit enter.
WA-LA you will see your website live on the internet!Its truly AMAZING!
