Free Traffic to Your Domain

You've just launched your new web site using your favorite web building tool, and then published it to the Internet. The next thing you'll be wanting is traffic - and ultimately lots of it.

You've thought about using pay per click ads to get the ball rolling, but having to pay for traffic means your bank account takes a hard hit and then your profits are decreased every time a visitor clicks through to your website. How about if you could attract people to your site by using traffic generating techniques that don't cost a thing!

Free traffic is sometimes viewed as being less effective because you don't have the ability to fine-tune it like you can with an AdWords ad, honing in on specific keywords and phrases that are only shown to an audience that would care, but it is an avenue you should seriously consider, whether it is for your primary method of generating traffic or in addition to various other methods.

While free traffic options may not let you pick and choose the keywords in the same way as Adwords would, you can however still create content built around specific keywords and phrases so that the pages automatically get indexed for your target audience.

Take a Squidoo lens, as an example. Squidoo allows you to have several free accounts (so that your expertise isn't diluted) and an unlimited number of free lenses (pages) per account. Take advantage of this opportunity and point every lens toward your own website and you have a frenzy of feeders that funnel visitors from Squidoo to your domain through text links and banner ads!

Article marketing allows you to do the exact same thing. Write an article based on keywords and phrases you want your web site to be searched and found for and then submit it to the various high-ranking article directories for inclusion.

A press release can achieve similar results. While many online press release sites charge a nominal fee for inclusion, some have free options - and they create RSS feeds so that interested publishers can find the content that is relevant to their niche.

Forum posting can also act as a conduit between your target audience and your website domain. Join the forums for your topic and then include a link to your website in your signature file. Don't give your web site obvious plugs in any posts you make, this is usually looked badly upon (unless it is relevant to a particular thread on the messageboard), but the inclusion of your web site url in your signature (i.e. The part that appears at the very bottom of each of your posts) is usually fine.

A side benefit of the forums is that as you participate in group discussions not only will your traffic will steadily increase, but your reputation as an authority figure to your target audience will be given a massive boost too. Don't forget to add a link to your web site into your forum profile, too! Profiles are the perfect tool to help channel people to your domain.

The above are just a handful of ways that you can generate a stream of free traffic to your web site. Unlike paid advertising, the response will not usually be straight away, but over time, and with enough effort, you will generate a constant flow of traffic to your web site and it won't cost you a thing.

Starting a Business - Part One

Have you ever wanted to start a business but did not know where to begin? Have you asked people who have a business and they could not quite tell you how to get started? Well, it happened to me! Therefore, I spent countless hours researching the topic of starting a business, and I also learned through trial and error. Below you will find 5 of 15 major steps you'll need to know something about. Although some of these areas I mention are much broader, I wanted to make it simple enough to understand. Keep in mind that if you want to start a large business, I recommend seeking advice from an accountant and a lawyer. This list is basically for a small business and for businesses run outside the home. Part Two will contain another 10 steps.

1. Get a business name for your business and your web site. Come up with an alternate name in case the one you choose is already taken. If you plan to start a web site, you will need to check and see if your name is available as a domain name. You will also need to check through the City Clerk's office to see if that name (d.b.a.) is available for your business in the county in which you'll be doing business (See Part Two, Step 1).

2. Check to see if that web site (domain) name is available. Then immediately register your domain name (it's like getting a business license) for your web site either directly through a registrar or through a web host that can do it for you.

3. Get a web host. It's like leasing office space. There are tons of web hosts available. It depends on your needs. They range from about $4.95 per month and up. Although you can get a "free" web site, this is very risky. The web host can register your domain name as part of the package or you can do it yourself. The prices vary because it depends what you require for a web site (how many pages, templates, etc) and what type of service you need from the web host. There are web sites available that do comparisons and reviews of web hosts. I highly recommend reading this type of information (do a web search) in order to make a good decision on a web host.

4. Get a business license through City Hall. You will need to know what type of business ownership you plan to have (sole proprietor, partnership, corporation, etc.) Accountants and attorneys can advise on what's the best type for you. "S" Corporations offer the most protection for your assets but it costs more to have. Again, there are web sites that offer information on types of business ownerships. Educate yourself in order to choose the right one for yourself.

5. Get a mailing address if you're working from inside your home. The Post Office requires a copy of your business license if the mail box will be registered to a "business" name. They only charge $20.00 for six months (in Orange County, CA). If you go through a mail center, you get a real mailing address, not a P.O. Box. However, it costs around $10.00 a month and up.

In Part Two, you will read about ten more steps to starting a business.

Understanding Web Hosting

You've got your new business all established now and you're ready to take the next step and set up a website to tell the online world that you're here and you've got something to offer. You've found a catchy domain name to call your own and now... what next? Well, the answer is that you need to find web hosting for the website you're going to build. So what does that mean and how do you figure out what kind of web hosting you need? First let's start with the basics.

Just what is web hosting anyway?

In simple terms, web hosting is renting space on a web server. A website is not simply a domain name, it is a collection of files linked together by HTML code to display text and graphics on a computer. In order for anybody to see this collection of files you've created, it has to be housed on a computer somewhere that has access to the internet. Not just any computer will do, of course. A web server is a computer set up with special software that allows it to receive requests from the internet for the website files it has stored on it and to send those files out over the internet so that the requesting computer can display them. It is very much like a waiter in a restaurant taking your order and bringing the food that you ask for from the kitchen, hence the name "server."

Along with making sure your files can be seen by internet users around the world, a web server provides other important services as well. First and foremost is the ability to create email addresses based on your domain name and to send and receive email with them. The web server also has various types of software installed on it that allow your website to run programs, create and manage databases, display video, and many other functions you might find useful. Almost any type of computer can function as a web server, but it's the software that's on it that makes it a server.

When you buy webhosting, the monthly fee you pay goes to the continued maintenance and upgrading of the server's hardware and software, the cost of keeping it online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in a secure data center with a fast and powerful internet connection, and to pay for the expertise of the people who do all that work. It is completely possible to turn your own home or office computer into a web server if you really want to, but in most cases it is far more economical to pay someone else who is dedicated to providing this service in a properly reliable manner than it is to try and do it yourself.

What kinds of web hosting are there?

Shared Hosting - Most websites are not huge affairs with hundreds of pages and thousands of files and graphics, and they are targeted toward a particular audience, so they will not get as many visitors as the large general sites like Yahoo! that are targeted at everybody who uses the internet. As such, the average website therefore is not going to require the full resources of an entire web server to run it. Web servers are designed to be able to handle dozens, even hundreds of websites at once because they are powerful machines.

Shared hosting is simply the concept of hosting more than one website on a particular server. Over 95% of all websites on the internet are being run in a shared hosting environment. Since the resources of the server can be split among the clients hosted on it, so can the costs of operating the server, so shared hosting is universally cheaper than any other type. Shared hosting packages are generally designed so that each client is allotted a certain amount of each resource, with different payment levels representing different amounts of resources such as disk space, bandwidth, email addresses, and so on. Shared hosting is also known as virtual hosting.

Dedicated Hosting - If you do have a big, powerful website that gets lots of visitors and has a tendency to hog resources, then you might want to have a web server all to yourself. Some companies also prefer the extra security of not having to share the server with anyone else who could do something accidentally or on purpose to crash it. Renting the use of an entire server is known as dedicated hosting. The web hosting company still owns the machine and takes responsibility for maintaining the hardware and the web hosting software, but you have greater control over the configuration and use of the server. There is also such a thing as semi-dedicated hosting, in which a web server is only split between a very small number of clients, such as 2 to 4, with strong partitions between each to prevent them from interfering with one another. Since the hosting company is still responsible for the upkeep of the server, this type of hosting is also known as managed hosting. For obvious reasons, dedicated hosting always costs significantly more than shared hosting.

Server Co-Location - If you really want complete control over every aspect of your web server, you might very well choose to buy one and maintain it yourself if you have sufficient knowledge. However, chances are that you still don't have the resources to keep your server completely safe from power outages, roof leaks, thieves, unwary employees and other hazards and keep it on the internet on a fast, high-bandwidth connection at all times. You need a data center to provide those services for you. Co-location is the rental of physical security, continuous electrical power and a fast, reliable internet connection for a server that you own. The data center is not responsible for any of the hardware or software maintenance of a co-located server, you are. This can be a cheaper alternative to dedicated hosting if you have the necessary expertise and time to run a web server yourself.

Some web hosts are offering UNIX hosting and Windows hosting. What's the difference?

The terms UNIX hosting and Windows hosting refer to the operating system (OS) that is running on the server. The operating system, of course, is the software that allows the computer to function and manage all of the other hardware and software that is installed on it. Chances are good that you are reading this on a computer running a version of the Windows operating system, the most popular operating system in the world for personal and business computers. Other operating systems that are growing in popularity are Macintosh and various versions of Linux. However, the operating system you use on your computer is irrelevant to which type of hosting you choose. Here are some of the main features of UNIX and Windows:

UNIX Hosting

Most of the web servers in the world today run on one of the many variants of UNIX. The UNIX operating system was originally developed by universities for servers and networking, and many different versions have been written by programmers around the world under the open-source protocol, which means that the code for the operating system is openly available for programmers to customize and make improvements. Linux and BSD are the most popular forms of UNIX and come in many varieties, such as Red Hat Linux, Debian, SuSE, and FreeBSD. Most of these different versions (and much of the software that runs on them) can be obtained for free, which makes UNIX hosting cheaper for a web host than other operating systems and allows them to offer lower prices. UNIX hosting platforms are generally considered to be stable, secure, powerful and fast. Most web programming applications can be performed by software that is available for a UNIX platform. "UNIX hosting" has become a generic term to refer to any platform that is derived from the original UNIX.

Windows Hosting

Microsoft has developed its own operating system for servers as a special version of its Windows operating system, Windows Server 2003. It is a commercial product which requires the operator to purchase a license, which increases the cost of operation for the web host and usually results in higher hosting prices. Windows is designed to be user friendly, but it is generally considered to be less powerful and secure than UNIX for operating in a network environment. ASP, ASP.NET, and ColdFusion are scripting languages which will only run on a Windows server, as will the Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Access database programs. These are popular for certain web programming applications, and if you are planning on using them to build your website, you will need to find a Windows host.

What are some of the terms I need to know when I choose a web host?

Disk Space or Storage - Because your website is a collection of files being offered on the internet for viewing, they have to be stored somewhere for retrieval and take up space. Each web server has a finite amount of hard disk memory to divide up and offer to hosting customers. Typically that space is divided up by different package levels so that the more you pay, the more space you are allowed to store pictures, web pages, videos and whatever other files you like on the web server's hard drive. If your website gets bigger than the space you are given, you will need to purchase more disk space from the web host.

Bandwidth or Data Transfer - Whenever you visit a website and view a page, you are transfering a copy of the files that make up that page over the internet from the web server to your computer. If the page you are viewing consists of an HTML file that is 3KB in size and three pictures of 47KB, 100KB and 250 KB, then you have just used 400KB of bandwidth or data transfer, because that is the total amount of data you just downloaded from the web server to view that page. Bandwidth is a commodity like disk space that the web host has to buy from its internet service provider, so it too is divided up and offered to the customers in specific amounts. Bandwidth amounts are usually measured in gigabytes (GB), because while only one copy of your files needs to be stored on the server, thousands or even millions of copies may be downloaded for viewing. If your website is viewed more times than the amount of bandwidth you are allowed can handle, your website may be turned off until the next billing period starts, or you may simply be billed for the excess amount used, depending on your host's policies. You can always purchase more bandwidth as your site's traffic increases.

Uptime - In an ideal world, every web server would be up and running and offering your web pages to the world 24 hours a day, 7 days a week forever. However, web servers are computers, and like any other computer, things happen to make them fail, or they get old and out of date and require maintenance and repair. When a web host gives you a 99% uptime guarantee, they are saying that the web server will be up and running for 99% of the billing period. If they fail to meet this guarantee, most web hosts will refund a certain portion of your money depending on the amount of excess downtime they experienced.

Traffic Statistics - Website traffic statistics programs try to track visitors to your website. They can track how many times your site was visited, how many visitors were unique and how many returned more than once, which pages were most popular, where the visitors came to your site from, what search terms they used in the search engines, and many other types of information which could be useful to you in marketing your website to a target audience. These statistics can be displayed in tables, graphs and charts by hour, day, week, month or year. Some statistics programs are better than others and offer more types of data, better displays, easier navigation or other useful features. Most web hosts today offer some sort of traffic statistics software with their hosting packages.

CGI Scripts - Many web hosts offer a variety of free CGI scripts with their packages. These are things like hit counters, guestbooks, form mail programs, message boards, and other programs that allow your website to perform commonly desired functions. You can use the ones your host provides you with or you can upload and run custom CGI scripts written by yourself or somebody else to perform different tasks like conducting a survey or processing customer information to produce an automatic price quote. Most CGI scripts are written in common programming languages like Perl, PHP or ASP.

You could spend a long time trying to learn everything there is to know about web hosting, but if you've read this far then you should be armed with the basic knowledge you need to understand what different web hosts are offering you. Your next task is to figure out what you need and go out and find a host that wants to give it to you at a great price!

How to Generate Traffic From a Good Domain Name

There are lots of ways that one could do in order to generate traffic to one's website. Yes, there are just about so many ways to have a successful online business. There is article marketing, Internet banner advertising, and then there is the easiest, that is, your website being endowed with a good domain name. Why is a great domain name an effective tool in website traffic generation?

The answer lies in a domain name's function. Your website's domain name serves as its identity, its image and brand, and it is because of this very important role that the act of creating an attractive website domain name becomes such a thought-provoking session that a lot of online businesses surrender to the first "good" name they could think of.

But this could be avoided really if one knew some cool tips on the subject matter: ones that work. Remember that once your website has been registered to carry such a domain name, it's for better or for worse unless you stop your online business completely or you sell it.

Thus, it is very important that this first step in website creation and registration, that is, domain-naming is perfected because to reiterate a "good" domain is capable on its own of generating traffic to your website. How does this happen?

Well, there are three ways of picking a domain name for your website. One such way is using the name of your online business - a most obvious way of doing so.

This will work if your business name is already established, meaning lots of people on- and off-line know about what your store is selling or the kind of services that your business offers. So when these same people go online, they know for sure that the words that they are using to find your website will be an exact hit.

Traffic generation in this scenario becomes as easy as singing the alphabet, don't you agree? This is one way therefore that "good" domain names are able to generate traffic.

The downside, however, to this is that your store might not be that popular off-line and that only a few people know about your store, which would mean that a part of your target market might have a difficult time locating your website in the World Wide Web. This is where the second way comes in, that is, with the use of high-ranking keywords.

The trick is to use only those keywords or phrases that are very much related to the contents of your website when naming your site. In this way, you don't confuse your audience.

The third way is with the use of some very fresh and creative words such as YAHOO or GOOGLE.

These were words that were unknown then but it worked therefore when domain-naming, BE VERY CREATIVE.

How To Develop High Traffic Websites

With the multi million number of people on the internet at any one time you would think that website owners would have no problem in attracting visitors to their site. It may therefore be a surprise to learn that most online business fail because of a lack of visitors to their site. To be successful online the most important thing is knowing how to develop high traffic websites.

When setting up a web based business or a site to advertise your business you need to know about how to drive traffic to your site. You do not have to be an experienced programmer or site builder to be able to achieve the strategies needed to get traffic. You not only need lots of visitors, you need to get what is called targeted traffic. This is traffic that will be interested in what you are offering and there are some easy steps you can take to make this happen

1: Optimize your Web pages.

You need to do some keyword research, and you can do this by using the free Google AdWords Keyword tool. Just type in a keyword that is relevant with the niche your site will be about. Once the keyword tool bring up a list of words that are being searched for you need to find a keyword that gets more than 1000 searches each month.

You then need to type the keyword into a Google search page, but enclose it in quote marks. So if the keyword you chose was Stop Acne, you would enter into Google as "stop acne" and then click search. This will bring up a list of all the websites or web pages with that keyword. Directly under the box in Google that you typed your keyword in will be a number. That number will be the actual number of web sites or pages that you will be competing against. You need to try and find a keyword that has less than 20,000 competing sites or pages.

So you need to find a keyword that has more than 1,000 searches per month and has less than 20,000 competing sites or pages. You then need put this keyword in your domain name. This keyword also needs to be included in the title of your site and it needs to appear in the first couple of sentence on your site. You would be advised to make sure that your keyword is as close to the last word on your site page as you can get it. You will want to sprinkle your keyword throughout the main page of your site as well. By doing what has been described you will have made your site more likely to appear on the front page of Google when someone types in your keyword as a search phrase.

2: Recognised: You have to get your site recognised by the search engines by telling them that it is there. You do this by listing it in every major search engine you can think of.

3. Content: Post relevant and interesting content to your site. By adding content on a regular basis Google will recognise your site as being more relevant and as a result will give your site a better ranking.

4 Back linking: This is when you have links pointing to your site from other sites. The way to do this is to contact other site owners who's sites are relevant to your own and ask them if they would agree to a reciprocal link. You then both agree to put a link to each others website on your own site.

The best thing to do is try and find sites that have a higher page rank than your own. Having a link pointing to your site from a higher ranked site will make Google think your site is important so it ranks your site higher. The more links you have to your site the better the Google ranking you will achieve.

These are just some of the ways to help you boost traffic to your site, but this is only the start. To drive hoards of targeted traffic to your website you need to work at it on a daily basis or get someone to do it for you, if you want to develop high traffic websites of your own.

If you are not in a position to outsource traffic building then best thing you can do is automate your traffic driving strategies with certain programs such as the Youtube Traffic Robot.

1. According to your list of business name ideas, select which of them clearly states information about your business products or services and the company. It will give people an idea of the business even just by merely hearing or reading the business name you have chosen.

2. Second, consider your target market. If you do not have a clear picture of your target people, do a research or survey. Do not pick the names that would give a negative connotation to them. Choosing for something that they can relate to positively.

3. You are about to complete your list. Among the remaining names, find out the simplest - easy spelling and pronunciation and definitely easy name to remember. Nobody will be able to remember a name they can hardly pronounce or spell.

4. Now, narrow the choices down to three to five names. Let your friends or employees rank the top three names. You will base your final decision according to their choices. Two heads are better than one.

5. From the top three, confirm the availability in the office of the local registry. For those who have online businesses, confirm the availability of domain names. If the name is available to both, then it is a very good sign.

6. You are down to the very last tip, register the business name as soon as possible before anybody else grabs the same name.

That's it, a simplified step in naming your business. By the way, do not forget that a company name generator must also assist you in choosing a domain name if ever you are having a hard time looking for available domains.

Have your business name ideas generated by a company name generator and have a perfect name for your business. Avail of the services of a business name generator to ensure convenient naming of your business.

How to Buy a Domain Name - Tips For the Newbie

If you are planning to make a income on the internet through your own internet marketing website or you just want to put up a website or blog about your favorite subject, there are certain steps that you have to complete first before you will be able to view your website online. One of the first and most important of these steps is buying a domain name. When you are new to this process it may all seem to be a little challenging, knowing just how to get started or what you have to do. If you find yourself in this position this article will definitely aid you when you are ready to buy your first domain name.

What is a domain name?

Simply explained a domain name is your one of a kind address on the internet. It allows Internet browsers (individuals searching the internet) to locate your particular website. Your domain name may be made up of your name, your business name, or variation of a set of relevant words associated with your website, company product, theme or subject. A good domain name will pretty much let people know what your website is about before they actually see or visit it.

Things to do before buying your domain name?

Because people and businesses have been buying up domain names for years now, it has been said that all of the good domain names have been taken already. Maybe this is true to some extent, however with a little research and imagination there should be no reason that you cannot create or find a domain name that you will be suited to you and or your website subject or niche. A good idea is to try to think of names or combinations of words and names that not only will tell the web surfer what your website is about but also be a name that is easy to remember, easy to spell, hard to forget. A domain name can be up to 67 characters in length, so it can also include names made up of a small phrase. such as "BestInTownPhoto.com" or "TheBarkingDogsKennels.com". These kind of domain names not only focus directly on what your website is about they are easier to remember than abstract or random characters or letters thrown together. You must also be aware that there are different types of domains which all have their certain type of extensions or ending:

-.com - Stands for company/commercial, but it can pretty much be used for any web site.

-.net - Stands for network and is usually used for a network of sites.

-.org - Stands for organization and is supposed to be for non-profit entities.

-.us, .nu, .co.uk, - Are country specific domain extensions that may require the register to be a citizen of the given country.

-.biz, .info - These and other like them are domain types that have been added because there are barely any short and intelligible domain addresses left to register.

When you are determining the type of domain name that is right for you simply stick to these guidelines: In the United States try to get a.com or.net. In other countries, if you cannot get the.com, then using your country's domain extension is a workable remedy

Write down the different names you come up with that appeal to you, make sure to put down as many as you can think of so that when you begin your search for available names to buy, if your first choice is already taken, as it very well may be, you will have a number of alternate or backup names that you can try. Many times finding the exact domain name you want can be "HIT or MISS" it is good to be prepared. You may also be able to keep the domain name of your choice by simply changing one letter, character or hyphenation within the name.

If you are determined to have a particular domain name and find out that is already in use by someone else there may be the option of purchasing that name directly from the owner by using the "Whois System" to help you identify the current owner of that particular domain name so that you may contact and make a offer to purchase that particular domain name. However because this is your first time buying a domain name and that method can involve much more, I will save the how to about that issue for a later time or article.

Register Your Domain Name

Once you have your list of preferred domain names you can now locate a service online that will not only show you the availability of the names but also register your chosen domain name as well. There are many of these companies and services to choose from. some of the better known and reliable services are:

"GoDaddy.com","Domain Name Registry.com" and "Register.com", you can also do a Google Search for "Domain name registries" to find other places to register your domain name.

Be prepared to pay between $8-$15 for your right to own your name for a one year period. This payment must be made annually to keep your ownership of your Domain name active. That is a good reason to choose a name that you will want to keep for a long time period. so that people will know exactly what your name is and where to find it over the years.

The last thing you will need to do is to take the IP address information provided to you from your webhost and in put input it at your domain name register before your domain name will function properly. It will allow the "DNS" (Domain Name System) to locate your domain name and website when your domain name is typed into a internet browser, this is called pointing you r domain name to your web host servers. A majority of domain registrars will probably require your IP and DNS server names in the course of registration, although some will call for you to go in and enter the information manually enter after your domain name registry fees have been paid.

Once you begin to follow the steps mentioned here in this article to buy your domain name you will see for yourself that they are not complicated at all, in fact buying a domain name is quite a simple process, so don't let the idea of doing this very important task yourself stop you from getting your first domain name online.

Using a Company Name Generator - Kick-Starting the Creative Process

Not everyone is the creative type, and one of the biggest unexpected challenges a new business owner faces is coming up with a good name for their newest entrepreneurial venture. The guy who always has an idea for making a buck somehow hits a wall when it comes to slapping a title on his project, and it is understandable. After all, in the business world, a name can make or break you, and before you sign up for your business license, start printing cards, and run advertising campaigns, you need to make a decision. For some people, a company name generator offers a solution to this problem.

These generators are built on sound principles. You type in keywords related to your products and services, and the software spits out a list of possibilities. Often, these names are not all that creative, but by applying your own thinking you can branch away from the name given and come up with something that fits-a unique brand that encapsulates your desired image. These programs sometimes introduce angles you may not have otherwise thought of and open side allies in thought to escape your dead-end.

But a company name generator is not necessarily the best solution. Computers are still no match for the processes of the human brain. They have no concept of the connotative meanings of words or the social contexts we apply to every aspect of life. More often than not, the names they spit out lack true character and are flat company titles you might find in a cheesy, low-budget film. In the end, you still have to do the real brainstorming.

For another solution with more potential and a little investment, consider hiring the services of a premium naming service. Naming services charge a fee, sure, but what you are paying for is a team of marketing and copywriting experts to come up with not only a name but a unique marketing angle. Your name is essentially your brand, and it is not something to be taken lightly. Everything in business begins with the name-as always, first impressions are everything.

So, it really makes sense to make this small investment to make a first impression that matters. After all, once you've hit the ground running it is not all that easy to go back and change your approach. A company name generator might spit out some random ideas which lead to a half-decent name, but it will never measure up to the value a team of experts provides when they put their collective industry wisdom to use.

Search Engine Optimization Writing

Search Engine Optimization writing is like twin brothers. That means it has two parts. The first Part is the optimization of the content of the article. The Second part is the Optimization of the Webpage/Website for the specific keyword phrase we want to rank for. Webpage/Website optimization is also called "OnPage SEO".

Part 2

When Using Search Engine Optimization writing to improve your OnPage SEO you should have always in mind the term "Relevancy". If you can't do this, we will do it together-now. I will take you by the hand and teach you the tips you really need to know to become successful when it comes to search engine optimization writing.

Let's assume, we want to promote the keyword phrase "Dog Training". First we have to eliminate competition. How do we do this? It's very simple. We go to Google, and we type our keyword phrase under " " and we hit search. If the results are more than 5.000 then forget it. Find another one. Another one could be "how to train your dog", which is relevant, and more targeted. We do the same, we go to Google, and we need to check the organic results under our term - quoted. More than 5.000 again? Then, we need to make our keyword phrase a long-tail one. Long tail Keywords are the best because they are more targeted. People who are typing this term are hungry crowd, and it will be easier for your search engine optimization writing.

So we found our keyword which is for example: "how to train your dog in 30 days"

Our next step is to go buy a domain using this keyword phrase. Attention here: Our domain name must be the targeted keyword we want to rank for. So, according to this example, we should by a domain like this "howtotrainyourdogin30days.com". Already taken? Use .org, or .net extensions but no other except them. Already taken? Use dashes.

Now we have our domain name ready, and we did half the job! Do not be afraid, I am here for you. Now we proceed to our Homepage. Your Targeted Keyword phrase must be:

· In the < title> tag

· In the anchor text

· In the Headings < H1>,< H2>, tags and < H3>

· In the beginning of your content

· In the < Alt> tags of the images

· In the < Description > metatag

· In the < Keywords > metatag

· In the < Language > metatag if your site is language-specific

Use Search engine optimization writing to improve your Title With your Title Tag, because this is your Page's Title, and it's the first thing Search Engines are looking for. Then, proceed to Your Content and pay attention to this: When we create content, we want it to be optimized for our targeted keyword phrase. That means, our keyword density for 1 keyword phrase must be 1-2% and for 3-4 keyword phrases around 5-7%.

Google takes Headings Very Seriously so you have to pay attention when it comes to headings.

Use < b> Bold and < i> Italic to your targeted keywords inside your content because that informs search engines the importance of this keyword phrase, and also you can improve your search engine optimization writing by putting relevant content after your targeted keyword phrases. This will explode your ranking!

Make good, unique Content, and use many words so you can underline your keywords.

Never forget to put an < ALT> Tag to your images because Google reads only text.

You can also improve your search engine optimization writing by putting a linking text which will link to another page of your website. This is called Interlinking, and you have of course to pay attention to the same factors we told before. The linking text which is the anchor text must be the same as the URL's text of our webpage we are linking.

Home Based Business - Flipping Domains Remains Profitable

If you are in search of a home based business, and do not like any of the conventional options, take a look at buying and selling domain names. The object with this sort of business mimics the stock market in that your goal is to buy low and sell high. Of course, there are the nay sayers who are of the opinion that the time at which domain flipping was a profitable activity has come and gone. They can keep thinking in such a manner as that means less competition for you.

One thing that you have to realize is that thanks to the recession, there will be a wave of valuable domain names coming up for expiration in the near future. This is because when people were laid off, a large faction of these individuals paid top dollar for expensive domain names in hopes of making money overnight. Unfortunately for them, it is not possible to make money overnight on the internet. As a result, many of these inexperienced entrepreneurs have given up on their dreams, and allow their domains to expire. This is when a seasoned veteran of domain retrieval swoops in and gains a valuable domain for next to nothing.

Furthermore, the recession has hit individuals who had been actively engaged with a home based business, but were unable to sustain the associated costs. The fact of the matter is that online business is similar to any other business in that it needs time to grow. When the recession became a reality, many home based business owners were no longer able to afford the start up expenses which are associated with a business in its early stages. As a result, they had to abandon their business, along with any associated domain name. While these events are unfortunate, they benefit you as a domain flipper.

Of course, there are those who believe that there simply is not any room for the internet to grow, and as a result, domain flipping is an opportunity of the past. I completely disagree with such assertions for one major reason. There are several markets which are lagging way behind we in the Western World when it comes to internet usage. The fact of the matter is that continents such as Asia are prime for a dot (com) boom to proportions which we have yet to witness. This is the new market within which millions will be made.

As you probably have gathered, I am a card carrying member of the group who realizes and recognizes that profiting from expired domain names has yet to reach its full potential. My recommendation to anyone still looking for a home based business, is to not summarily dismiss domain name flipping. While there is a lot of work involved, the potential payoff is amazing. Additionally, you must realize that there is a lot of work involved in any home based business regardless.

If you are looking for a great Home Based Business, do not rule out expired domains. When domain names expire, you are presented with potentially profitable Business Opportunities.

The Business of Scheduling Your Success

Schedule Your Success

Many of you just getting into MLM, or other Internet Marketing Ventures, come into the game swinging wild, and wide. Your inclined to think that you have to do a whole lot of everything in the hopes that you will "hit" on something that works. Guess what? This doesn't work.

The best game plan is to schedule your business goals. First, sit down and write out your business plan. Where are you starting from? What is your ultimate goal? What are the necessary steps to get there? Once you have this concept firmly developed, and in writing, you can now start to break these chunks down into smaller pieces. One of the most important things to remember to allow lots of time for, is training. Training is not just a one time and done activity. Training is something you need to do on a very regular basis I recommend daily) throughout your career.

You need to set up a web site or blog. What do you need to do first? Maybe it is to get a Domain name. Maybe it is to get a Web Host. Whatever it is, break this "chunk" of your business down into written steps, and then assign a time table for each of those steps.

The same holds true with your advertising, and your affiliate sign up rate. Set a goal for the number of people that you want to sponsor by a given date. Then set down, and calculate the quantity of advertising you will need to do to draw an appropriate amount of responses for you to achieve your sponsorship target.

Planning and Scheduling each of these processes in detail will help you to stay focused. A business with focused goals, is a business with a high success rate. Spur of the moment plans, and random goals are ineffective and usually costly. There are all sorts of Free, and Shareware scheduling programs available. I recommend that you find one that you like, and begin using it on a daily basis.

You will see an increase in your business success as a result. Simply because you are keeping yourself focused on the task at hand, rather than drifting aimlessly.

Here Is To Your Total Success!!!

How to Avoid Pharming and DNS Exploits

I had the "privilege" of seeing a scary exploit the other night .....

In essence it was a variation on the idea of "pharming" where a hacker attempts to redirect traffic legitimate website traffic to a different, fraudulent, website - the most common use of this exploit is to re-direct traffic destined for on-line financial site in order to harvest user names, passwords and other security credentials. There are a number of ways this type of attack can be executed.

The first, and simplest method is to compromise the hosts file on the user's PC. The hosts file is a remnant of ARPANET, the predecessor of the Internet, which did not have a domain name system for resolving network names. Instead each node held its own records of other nodes that it needed to know about and this is what is contained in the hosts file. An entry contained in the hosts file will override the need to look up an address using the domain name system.

In order to execute an attack the hacker needs to modify the host file; something which can be achieved by enticing the user to download a small piece of malware to their computer - this malware would then modify the hosts file with the name of the site they wished to direct and the bogus IP address that they wished to redirect it to.

The second way of executing a pharming attack is to use a technique call DNS cache poisoning - this is where the hacker compromises a DNS server by exploiting a flaw in the DNS server software and cause the DNS server to accept bogus information. By doing this the DNS server will then provide an incorrect IP address for a given name and direct users to the attacker's web site.

The third way uses malicious code to reconfigure the DNS settings of a user's home router, this is also called a "Drive by" pharming attack. If you look at the configuration of your home router somewhere in its configuration you will usually find references to primary and secondary DNS servers - these parameters are usually set to whatever your ISP provides but, even when your ISP has provided the configuration, it is possible to change these settings.

In this attack, the hacker changes these DNS settings so that any attempt to resolve names is not sent to the ISP's DNS server but to a DNS server controlled by the hacker. Thus, the hacker is able to provide whatever address he chooses and redirect the traffic to another server under his control. Thus an attempt to access the Natwest web site (www.natwest.com) could result in the user being redirected to a bogus server offering web pages that look superficially like the genuine site - allowing the hacker to collect online banking credentials.

This attack requires the user to be tricked into downloading some malware to their PC - either via Javascript embedded into an email or via a compromised web site. In many cases it will also require the administrative user name and password for the home router, although many users do not change the default and a quick session with a search engine will usually reveal the default username and password for most popular home routers. Scarily, there are some home routers out there that allow the username/password validation for administrative access to be bypassed.

So, what can you do to protect yourself - here are some simple tips.

Does the web site displayed in your browser look genuine? If it is something sensitive like an online banking site, is it using HTTPS (the padlock symbol is most browsers).

If the site is using HTTPS did you get a certificate warning? If you get a certificate warning you should never, ever proceed.

Does the site seem to be asking for too much information? Most online financial institutions have a user name, password and several pieces of memorable information. If the site that you have connected to wants you to provide all of this information in one hit then it is not the genuine article. Likewise, if the site you have connected to is asking you to type your complete password when you would normal select specified characters from a drop down list or click keys on an on screen keyboard, it is not the genuine article either.

Change the default administrative user name and/or password on your home router.

Good luck - and stay secure.

Domain Name: Why Do You Need One Anyway?

I come across sites all the time that are obviously hosted for free. Why obviously? Because they have no domain. Having no domain can cost you big time.

You have taken the time to put together a great website. You have collected pictures, designed or bought a nifty template, and filled it with great text. Your website is ready to go. Everything looks great - until you decide to host your site on a free hosting account provided by your ISP. Big mistake.

Having no domain name is no big deal if all that you will ever do with the website is post family pictures. A domain name is mandatory though, if you plan to do business online. If you don't take your business seriously, why should anyone else?

Domain names build trust in your website visitors

One of the biggest barriers to doing business online is the lack of face to face communication. When people can't look into your eyes and size you up in person, they are slower to trust you. In the absence of being able to talk face to face, your website and everything about it, communicates trust, or the lack thereof.

Registering a domain name is an important first step to building the trust your visitor has in you and your company. Always keep in mind that trust is much easier to lose than it is to build in the first place. It takes a long time to build trust but it takes no time at all to destroy it.

Domain names are portable

When you go with a generic website address from your ISP, the few dollars you save per year are far less costly than the lack of mobility to you get with a free website address. You may have hopes that your part time web project will one day lead to a full time income. When you have a free website address, you are stuck to that ISP. In contrast, when you own a domain name, you can take your domain name to any web hosting company you choose.

As the traffic to your website builds and your website climbs in the search listings, changing its name later is impossible without taking a big traffic hit. When you have a domain name however, changing hosts will have very little effect on your traffic. This is even more important if your website is suddenly hit with a major increase in traffic. You may need to change web hosts but if you don't have a domain name, that traffic may disappear. On top of that, if you start using too much bandwidth on your free hosting account, your provider will most likely pull the plug.

Domain names make it easier for your prospects to email you

When you have a domain name, it looks more professional. Having an email like jack@yourdomain.com looks far better and is easier to remember than jack.lastname@yourisp.com. Easier for your prospect translates into more money earned for you.

Domain name registration is a no brainer and something you should do right away.

Do-It-Yourself Free Reverse Cell Phone Lookup Search Strategy Revealed

Although there are many services online that can provide you with access to detailed telephone databases to assist you with conducting reverse cell phone lookup searches, these services are rarely free. To get the information you're after, you will normally end up paying a fee per search or a one-time fee to access databases and tools.

There is, however, an insider trick to conducting your own free reverse cell phone lookup searches. Grab your pen and paper and follow along with me using the number you need to trace as we walk through this exercise.

If you're like most citizens of this great planet, you probably visit Google, Yahoo or some other search engine on a daily basis (if not daily, at least several times per week). These search engines roam the Internet constantly indexing new websites and web pages into their vast databases. You can harness the power of Google's search database to conduct your own free reverse cell phone number search.

Everyday, people all over the Internet unknowingly make their unlisted phone numbers and cell phone numbers publicly available over the Internet. How do they do this? Maybe they lost a dog or they're trying to sell a car and they take out a classified ad in their local newspaper. Most newspapers nowadays publish their entire paper, including the classified section, on their websites. If the person buying the ad put their cell phone or unlisted phone number in the ad, there is a high probability that phone number is now available to search.

In addition to newspaper classifieds, people also use their cell phone numbers when they register on websites, participate in message boards and many other online endeavors. Each time they put their number down, a search engine spider is going to find it!

How does this help you and your free reverse cell phone search? Take the phone number you're searching for and input it into the search box on your favorite search engine. Remember to try the different variations people use for phone numbers. For example, some people write their phone number in a format like 555-555-5555 while others will put it down as 555.555.5555. There are many, and I do mean many, ways people will format their phone numbers.

Try these different variations into the search engine. Try it with and without quotation marks as this will sometimes help you get better search results. In our tests, this strategy works about 40-50 percent of the time, although it often takes quite a bit of time to consider all of the variations a person may put their phone number down in.

Once you get a hit on the number, your next step is to investigate the website you found it on to see if it offers any clues to the cell phone number owner's identity. Sometimes all you will find is the actual number listed and you're back to where you started. Other times you'll get only a first name and no last name.

Sometimes you hit the jackpot and get the full name, address and more of the owner. Like I mentioned earlier, it can take hours to get to this point. If you don't have hours to invest in conducting your own free reverse cell phone lookup, I suggest considering one of the other services available to make your search faster.

Chad Kiser runs the popular Reverse Cell Phone Look up Guide. Would you like more information on the free reverse cell phone lookup technique mentioned in the article above? Visit ReverseCellPhoneLookup.biz today for quick tips and resources for conducting your own searches!

Dreamweaver: How to Publish Files Using FTP

Before you can publish in Dreamweaver, you must set up a "home base" folder where your website will live on the local hard drive of your computer. Once this is in place, you can use Dreamweaver's FTP feature to "get" and "put" the HTML files from your local folder to the remote server. Here's how to set it up for a BASIC website that does not include PHP, .asp or any "dynamic" elements.

Open Dreamweaver.

Go to the top menu and click SITE, then NEW SITE

The prompt will ask you for a name. Name it "Whatever Your Site's Name Is" (you can space this - it's like a title bar, not a domain.)

Next Prompt: Do you want to work with a server technology?

Your Answer: NO

Next Prompt, Question 1: How do you want to work with your files?

Your Answer: Option 1

Question 2: Where on your computer do you want to store your files?

Your Answer: (Here, you will set up a folder hierarchy. Your heirarchy might be, C:/Your Websites/Name of Website

Next Prompt: How do you connect to your remote server?

Your Answer: FTP

Now it will ask you the following questions:

What is the hostname or FT address of your Web server?

Your Answer: This will vary. Typically, it's ftp.whateveryourwebsitenameis.com (starts with ftp, a period, and then a domain name dot-com. The domain name could be your own domain name, or it may also be the domain name of your hosting provider. You may want to search for the term 'FTP' in your host's help instructions so you know exactly what address to enter here.)

What folder on your server do you want to store your files in?

Your Answer: typically the answer to this is htdocs, but you have to figure out where your main HTML files are stored on your server. (I know that in Earthlink the folder is called webdocs).

What is your FTP login:

Your Answer: whatever your website login is

What is your FTP password:

Your Answer: whatever your password is

Now check off "save" and then click TEST CONNECTION to make sure you're hooked up. If you can't connect, recheck the above information and repeat the process.

Next Prompt: Do you want to enable checkin and checkout?
Your Answer: NO

(This is up to you. If you have multiple designers on your team, then checkin and checkout could be a good way of preventing file versions accidentally overriding each other. If you work alone, just say NO.)

Note:

If you screw this up for some reason or want to change anything, go back up to the top menu, click SITES again and select EDIT. you'll see the name of your website (whatever you named it in Step 1) listed and you can repeat this same process.

To use the FTP in Dreamweaver, just go to the far right hand window where it says DESIGN, CODE, APPLICATION, FILES all stacked vertically. Hit the arrow where FILES is located to open up the little FILES window.

Note: if you don't see any far right window, you may have chosen the alternate view when you first launched the program. In this case, go to the TOP MENU BAR and click SITE and then SITE FILES. A floating window should open up that you can drag anywhere beside your main window.

In the FILES window, you'll see a little pulldown menu where you can opt to view your server files.

Next to that pulldown is another pulldown menu that says REMOTE VIEW. By default, you're looking at the server (as opposed to your local computer folders, which is another choice in this pulldown).

Just beneath the word FILE in that FTP window, you see a little icon that looks like a plug with a black dot next to it (far left). Click that and it'll "connect" you and the dot will turn green, for "GO Dreamweaver!"

To open a file from your desktop, mouse away from the FTP window and go to the *usual* place in any program where you'd open a file. (Top menu bar, far left, FILE.)

Open the file from the folder where it's located on your computer. Edit the file.

When you're done editing the file, go back to the FTP window on the right, that you just set up. Make sure you're connected (that dot next to the plug doohickey should be green. If it's black, click the plug icon again to connect).

To transfer the file from your local desktop to the remote server, do this:

Mouse away from the FTP window again, and back to your open file. Focus your gaze TOP CENTER. Next to the TITLE bar there are two arrows, a green "down arrow" and a blue "up arrow."
To PUT the file on the remote FTP server, click the BLUE UP ARROW.

(The blue UP arrow stands for PUT or PUBLISH from your computer to FTP server)

(The green DOWN arrow stands for GET or retrieve your file from the FTP server to your computer)

Later on, you may want to open the file directly from the FTP server and edit it.

So, go to the FTP window and click the icon to connect to your server again. The list of files should appear.

Find the name of the file you want to edit, and while still in that mini File window, click the name of the file once (to highlight). Then click 'FILE' and 'OPEN'. (this is all done in the little FTP window, not the main window).

Now your file will open up in the main (big) window. Edit it, and then click that BLUE ARROW by the center TITLE BAR to PUT or publish it again.

NOTE: if you click the blue arrow located in the little FTP window, it will PUT the ENTIRE SITE from your desktop to your server.

If you've already edited and put some files but not others, this will mess your stuff up royally. Why?

Because it'll take the files from your computer and replace the "most updated files on your remote server" with the old ones from your local folder, thereby deleting your work. I have done this by accident and it is no fun.

If you know that all the files on your server are the *correct* ones but the ones on your desktop are the *old* ones, you can *get* the files from the server by clicking the GREEN DOWN arrow in the little FTP window on the right.

This will replace every file on your hard drive with the same named files from your server.

If you royally mess up something, but as you remember it, the last file that you PUT (or published) is still live on the web, you can type in that file name in your internet browser and then do a VIEW SOURCE, copy the HTML code, and paste that back into the file on your hard drive, Save, and then PUT it again.

Generally, it's a good idea to work from your local folders and then PUT the entire site (in the FTP window) all at once. But I am a jerk and I don't do it that way.

Good luck, and happy FTPing, getting and putting!

Setting Up an E-store

E-stores are the newest craze to hit the internet. Suddenly everyone is starting their own and some major companies, like Amazon and Ebay, are making it even easier to get started in ecommerce by offering ready-made e-stores. This means that you need to make sure you set your store up correctly and in a way that it will stand out from the crowd. Here exactly how to do that:

First, you need an excellent product. Don't choose something that everyone else is already selling! You are looking for a niche market, something specific and popular, without the market being overrun. A good example would be pet accessories. Coats and jewelry for cats and dogs is a big thing these days, and while some competition will always exist, it is a fairly untapped market.

Once you have your product, you need a very good store. The best way to stand out from the competition is to not use a template. Instead of going with a standard setup like Ebay offers, you will be much better off designing your own e-store. Customizing colors and design just takes a little know-how that you can easily learn online or hire someone to do.

Keeping your store looking neat and clean, without excess graphics, and with a memorable logo, is a good way to keep visitors on your site. Fast loading pages will help, as well. Make all your information easily available and keep everything within two clicks of your home page, with a standard navigation bar available on all pages for easy access to everything. People like easy to navigate websites and will usually stay longer on such sites.

It doesn't have to be that complicated to set up a method of payment. There are plenty of payment services that offer merchant accounts and all you have to do is add the HTML buttons to your website so your customers can buy your products through an online shopping cart.

You will also want to invest in a good domain name. While the ideal domain name would be your e-store name that might not always be possible to find. Look for something that uses your main keywords if your title isn't available. Keep it to a maximum of 3 words long to make it an easy to remember URL and try for a .com ending as most people tend to remember that more than any other ending.

Now you have your store, your product and your domain name, all that remains is to promote. That is a whole other article!

Beating Junk E-Mail 101

If you've ever opened your email application to see that you have hundreds of new messages in just a day or two, you know what it is like to be hit by email spam. Spam isn't just a big waste of space in your email account. It is annoying to wade through all those emails. Even more importantly, the sheer volume of viagra, porn, I'm the King of Siam's uncle and need you to move money for me, etc. emails makes missing an important email from an actual customer or the boss a lot more likely. If you happen to work for someone who isn't technologically savvy, you could even get in trouble for getting spam mail. Your boss may be under the impression that you had to visit 50 porn sites and sign up for their email lists to get all of this junk mail in your inbox. Stop the bombardment of spam mail before the little "you've got mail" tune going off every three seconds drives you to resort to pen and paper for your business correspondance or ruins your boss's opinion of your work ethic. Get some anti spam software.

For the few people who never fill out online forms, don't let friends or family know their email address and rarely send or receive email, this may sound downright silly. However, anyone who has had to deal with spam knows that a grown man may be tempted to break down and cry after wading through 200 emails that sound like they might be important, only to find that he is being encouraged to buy shares of some odd stock or see some movie star's compromising photos. As you think about this rather depressing cycle of spam deletion, you are probably starting to wonder if there is any hope or if you should just try to cram your computer down the garbage disposal. Luckily, there is help for people who are overwhelmed by spam mail - anti spam software.

Of course, you won't be able to find anti spam software that is perfect. Despite your best efforts, there will be some mail trickling in that you don't want to see because spammers spend every waking minute trying to figure out new ways to ruin your productivity and sneak past the barriers. They hack into email accounts, send email from fake email addresses using reputable domain names, send emails that look like actual articles with the spammy word hyphenated, misspelled, or disguised in some other way in the body of the text, or come up with some other new solution to circumvent that sanity saving anti spam software.

However, without anti spam software, you are wide open to attack from spammers. It is well worth the money to buy a good anti spam software to free up a bit of time. After all, you have anti-virus, spyware and firewall software on your computer, right? (The correct answer is yes. Otherwise spammers are soon going to be the least of your problems as your computers are hacked and infected right and left.) Spam is here to stay and who wants to spend an hour or two a day fighting it? If you think an hour or two a day isn't that big a deal, think about how many years you plan to read email each day and multiply that by 365. How many hours of your life will you be throwing away on spam because you didn't invest in anti spam software? In 10 years, you could have recovered a mindboggling 3,650 hours. Imagine what amazing new skill you could have developed if you used that time to learn a hobby.

If you are still on the fence, think about this - what else gives you a time savings of at least 75% on a task for under $40? Don't forget the number of hours you are regaining. Multiply them by your hourly pay rate and you are also looking at an incredible financial return on the investment in anti spam software.

10 Ways to Stop Yahoo, MSN, Hotmail, AOL, and EarthLink from Stealing Money from Your Business

How many of you are still using Yahoo, MSN, Hotmail, AOL or EarthLink to send email on behalf of your business? How many of you are actually paying both AOL and EarthLink every month to send email to your prospects and current customers? Did you know that every time you send an email using these services you are literally allowing them to take money away from your business? Please don't get me wrong, I too have used and still use some of these services but I never use them for my business. I use my business email address (jeffb@2thenextlevel.com) for communication, correspondence and marketing. The minute I hit "send," not only do I get to put my company name in someone's email box but I also give them a way to get back to my website for additional information on my company--and the possibility of a sale.

Your email address has become a major form of both marketing and branding. So much so that when you send it out to multiple people in the form of an offer you have for your goods or services your company name could be read by millions. So, why would you allow Yahoo, MSN, Hotmail, AOL or EarthLink to get all the credit. These email services already have millions upon millions of customers. Yet you have been letting them take precious marketing and branding dollars right out of your pocket. Every time you send that email you're giving them a free marketing opportunity to your prospects and customers. Yahoo, MSN, Hotmail, AOL and Earthlink all love it when you decide to start a business and use their email address. It does not matter if you choose a name like mybusinessname@aol.com, you are still giving AOL the ultimate way to market their service.

Ok so now you know what you should not do. Now here are the steps involved in what you should do.

Step 1: Go quickly to a website like proemailaddress.com and register a domain name for your business. If you can't get your exact business name try and get the domain name of what you specialize in: ex. Wesellrestaurants.com, or how your product delivers performance: ex. Thechaindrive.com

Step 2: In doing the search and then registration of a domain name, try your best to get a ".com" name. ".com" is still the most popular and the most recognized. If you cannot get ".com" go for ".net" and last but not least, ".biz".

Step 3: Get an email package that will supply you with at least 5 email addresses to start. Get more if you have more people in your company, but 5 email addresses are enough for most small businesses.

Step 4: The two most important email addresses are yourname@yourbusiness.com and info@yourbusiness.com. yourname@yourbusiness.com should go on every marketing piece you give out. This includes your business card, brochure, letterhead and fax coversheet. Try not to put yourname@yourbusiness.com on your website. Use info@yourbusiness.com for this purpose instead. This info email will be your catch-all email address. This will cut down on the amount of spam you would receive at yourname@yourbusiness.

Step 5: Send a change of email address letter informing all your customers that have been using your old Yahoo, MSN, Hotmail, AOL, and EarthLink that you now have a new email address and the old one will no longer be in use. One of the best ways to do this is to use a service like Plaxo.com. Plaxo.com will help you send out the latest information on you and your business via email.

Step 6: Use the auto response or vacation response feature on your old Yahoo, MSN, Hotmail, AOL, and EarthLink email to inform those that are still sending email to you that you have changed your email address to yourname@yourbusinessname.com Make sure you inform them that they should now use your new yourname@yourbusinessname.com email from now on and that your old email address will only be checked once a week for the next 30 days.

Step 7: Create a signature line at the end of your new yourname@yourbusinessname.com again informing those who had your Yahoo, MSN, Hotmail, AOL, and EarthLink of your new email address and to update their spam filters with the change.

Step 8: If you are having problems in keeping up with your email list and want to send out broadcast emails more efficiently, consider using a third party email distribution service like Constant Contact or Broadcast Email Expert.

Step 9: Use the message on your voicemail to remind those that call you that you now have a new email address and/or website. Give them a choice to leave a message or send an email to your new email address.

Step 10: Finally for those of you who use AOL and EarthLink you may decide to cancel these accounts so you can save money. Since Yahoo, MSN, and Hotmail are free you may decided to keep these accounts--but again you should not use them for business purposes. Keep these email accounts for personal use only, and bring more money to your business by bringing more people to your website using
"yourname@yourbusinessname.com"

Using WordPress Theme Templates to Build Political Campaign Websites

It wasn't long ago that candidates running for local office had to pay a lot of money to professional website development companies if they wanted an impressive political campaign site to showcase their candidacy. Today, though, any candidate can create and manage their own campaign website with WordPress, a free content management program.

WordPress started out as a platform used mainly for blogging, but it has evolved into the program of choice for many businesses, non-profit organizations, online newspapers and magazines, too. And yes, plenty of political campaign candidates use WordPress for their election websites, as well, since it is so easy to learn and use.

WordPress allows you to choose from thousands of themes, or templates, to apply to your website and change its overall look and design. WordPress themes are easy to install with the click of a button, and they require no knowledge of advanced programming or HTML in order to use.

There are many options to choose from for political campaign WordPress theme templates, and more are being developed and designed every year. In order to use WordPress for your campaign site, you will need to sign up with a web hosting company (the cost is minimal, often no more than ten dollars a month). After you have purchased your domain name, you can then install WordPress on the domain server and will be supplied with a username and password for the administration panel.

Many WordPress themes allow you to change the website banner, fonts, color scheme and even font style on your new site. In order to find a template that is perfect for your political campaign, some quick search engine research will show you dozens of different sites that allow you to download free WordPress themes.

Remember: there's no reason to pay a website design company hundreds or thousands of dollars to create a political campaign site for you! With a little research, you can create your own candidate election site in your spare time using WordPress.

Four Simple Ways You Can Create a Website Today

The popularity of websites and the need for almost everybody to have one today really necessitated lots of programmers to keep churning out awesome software that can do the job easily. It is uncommon that much new website creation software hit the market monthly and these are continually being updated. What this means is that if you find software that can help to at least create basic website, be sure that it will become better tomorrow because the developers will keep improving it.

The reality is that you can create a simple website in just two hours or less even if you haven't used computer before if you use some of the simple software that are readily and easily available.

A. There is some software that is editing in nature and has simple and easy versions that resemble word-processing programs. You can practically do anything you like such as installing a header banner, columns and side panels of any size and shape by simply clicking and dragging methods. These kinds of editing programs even make it very easy for anybody to integrate forms, PayPal, site checking, ordering, easy 'preview' and 'publishing' functions as well as SEO features. These are quite user-friendly and don't require any form of FTP or HTML knowledge. You can easily get any these programs online now and start creating a simple website the next minute or you may still 'off-the-shelf' website building stuff or package from some of the offline computer shops.

B. There are also the 'Quick Build' template manners of website creation. If you are really in hurry and desire to have your website created very fast, you can settle for the free website templates and simply fix your graphics and add your copies. These templates are limiting in some ways because some of them may not allow you to add the themes you like and change some of the areas you don't like and FTP or HMTL knowledge isn't required too. The good thing about the 'template sites' is that almost all of them have website templates that are ready to go. They are usually set up as 'workable sites' and would simply go live on the internet soon as you click publish. You can do a simple search on the internet now to discover lots of them.

C. You may opt to look for a 'step-by-step' website building video training. It isn't always easy to get the best of video trainings because lots of them doesn't give as much quality training as they claim but if you really search well online, you will get the very best. The best website creating creation video training will ordinarily explain every thing you need like the best programs and how to use them. They will go further by recommending domain name and reliable web hosting service you can use.

D. Host and domain name companies also offer some website building trainings. You may have seen their adverts in many places online. Some of hosting companies try to retain their customer and shelve them from competitors by offering them 'in-house' do it your self videos. Watching any of the easy-to-implement process will help anyone to create good and simple website in less than two hours.
